Diversity
Wallace King is a fully integrated firm. We stress the diversity of our firm in every decision we make, from initial hiring to staffing on particular matters. We believe that promoting diversity at every level of our firm benefits us, our clients and our community.

Improving diversity was one of the motivations that prompted the formation of the firm, and it has remained a driving force in the firm's growth. Washington is an ideal location for recruiting world-class legal talent and providing first-rate legal services for many reasons, not the least of which is the diversity of the legal community. Wallace King seeks to capitalize on that opportunity by engaging and promoting minorities and women throughout the firm. Just as success breeds success in other aspects of the profession, success in building a diverse staff prompts success in attracting and retaining diverse talent. That is an important reason why Wallace King has been relatively successful in this effort. We deliberately started with an integrated staff, and we continue to strive to provide a place where women and minorities can flourish.

Our profession needs to improve the record on diversity. Our firm is no exception. We can stand improvement. We cannot compromise our commitment to this goal. Yet, while we do not rest on our accomplishments, we take pride in them. In 2005, ChevronTexaco initiated an annual award for firms that display a commitment to promoting diversity in their organizations and in the profession. Wallace King was selected along with three other firms as the first recipients of the ChevronTexaco Commitment to Diversity Award, resulting in a generous donation by Chevron to the Legal Aid Society in the firm's name.

Wallace King also proudly supports organizations devoted to promoting diversity in the profession. In particular, we are pleased to support the leadership and programs offered by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association. For more information on this dynamic organization, visit www.mcca.com.
