In 2005, ChevronTexaco initiated an annual award for firms that display a commitment to promoting diversity in their organizations and in the profession. Wallace King was selected along with three other firms as the first recipients of the ChevronTexaco Commitment to Diversity Award, resulting in a generous donation by Chevron to the Legal Aid Society in the firm's name.
