John W. Kampman
Mr. Kampman is an expert in the Toxic Substances Control Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and the Hazardous Materials Transportation Act. John has participated in key EPA rulemakings and has extensive experience in toxic tort litigation. He provides frequent and extensive client counseling in almost all aspects of TSCA, and has represented clients in several agency enforcement actions. John also has extensive experience with chemical importing requirements of Canada and Europe. Because of his knowledge of toxicology and analytical chemistry, John is often consulted on a broad range of environmental matters, including FDA and California Proposition 65 regulations. In addition, John has litigated successful challenges to the RCRA recycling regulations, vapor recovery regulations under the Clean Air Act, CERCLA National Priorities List listing decisions, and challenges to local hazardous materials transportation regulations.
Before joining Wallace King, John practiced environmental law at Howrey & Simon in Washington, D.C., at the Washington, D.C. Office of Kaye Scholer Fierman Hays & Handler, and with an environmental boutique. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Kampman managed environmental protection and industrial hygiene programs for a major division of General Electric, which included nine manufacturing facilities in the U.S., Asia and Mexico. He was a captain and rated pilot in the United States Air Force where he flew KC-135 refueling aircraft for the Strategic Air Command.
